Seaport Village Shopping and Dining

LOCAL LIVING RESOURCE for Residents, Visitors & Newcomers

Seaport Village

The Best Waterfront Shopping & Dining in San Diego!

Shop, dine and stroll at downtown’s picturesque Seaport Village, where land meets sea. The harborside shopping and dining destination beckons natives and newcomers with its coastal breezes and views of the iconic Coronado Bridge, along with pretty pathways, lush ponds and 14 acres of Spanish-style storefronts.

More than 60 retailers dot the waterfront complex, including a surf shop, a wine tasting room, an international flag store, plus trendy apparel and locally made gifts. Also get geared up at the Harley-Davidson San Diego store; enjoy eco-friendly goods at Cariloha Bamboo; and find classic and new games and toys at Geppetto’s.

A variety of delicious dining options including cafes, fast-casual bistros and fine restaurants also make the sunny setting a foodie’s delight. Grab a bite at more than a dozen eateries cooking up everything from Greek and Mexican food to Asian-fusion fare, to pizza, pretzels and cool candy creations.

Both mainstay and brand new waterfront restaurants include: San Diego Pier, the (literally) over-the-water icon delivering classics like fish and chips and creamy clam chowder, plus shareables like crab cakes and calamari; Edgewater Bar & Grill, serving all-day brunch and dinner on an expansive outdoor patio with incredible views. Malibu Farm — anticipated to open in Spring/Summer 2022 — featuring farm-to-table California cuisine in an indoor/outdoor setting. Already open tasty additions include Spill the Beans, a specialty coffee and bagel shop; Mr. Moto Pizza, serving up New York-style pizza either by the slice or an entire pie; and Mike Hess Brewing, one of San Diego’s first craft breweries, which includes 23 crafted beers plus tacos and burritos by Quiero Tacos.

Free outdoor musical entertainment, ranging from blues, jazz, country and swing, is offered year-round. Families also love the 1895 antique carousel with hand-carved animals by Charles Loof. Ride round and round and let Seaport Village’s resident caricature artist Björn immortalize all the fun in a sketch to take home.

Signature events at Seaport Village include:

Busker Fest in March, when professional street performers from across the country gather to perform their bizarre talents from sword swallowing to knife throwing to pogo stick tricks and juggling on unicycles; Photos With the Easter Bunny; Photos With Santa throughout the holiday season; and the arrival of “Surfin’ Santa” in November.

With four miles of meandering cobblestone pathways bordered by ponds, lakes, fountains and colorful landscaping, plus a quarter-mile slate boardwalk along the San Diego Bay, it’s easy to enjoy an afternoon stroll while you wander through the shops, walk the promenade, watch the boats sail by and bask in the the sun.

Seaport Village is located at 849 W. Harbor Drive in San Diego. The complex is open daily from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. M-F, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sat. & Sun. For more information visit the website at
